Heads up, Verizon customers. A new report has surfaced claiming to have details on a handful of new smartphones that'll be hitting Verizon's shelves through summer and fall 2012, and if this leak is to be believed, there are some pretty big devices in the Big Red pipeline. According to BGR, the Samsung Galaxy S3 will indeed be hitting Verizon, which should please the folks that were upset with the carrier's decision to pass on the Galaxy S II. There's no mention of exactly when the GS3 may launch, but Samsung has said that the device will be introduced "closer to commercial availability of the product," so the wait for the GS3's U.S. arrival may not be terribly long.
Moving on, we're told to expect "multiple" RAZR models from Motorola in the coming months. No specific details are given, but one of the devices may be the RAZR HD, whose name popped up in some photo EXIF data earlier this month. The fall is reportedly bringing with it a new HTC handset, and if you've been hoping for a Galaxy Note-type of handset from the Taiwanese firm, prepare to be pleased. BGR claims that this new HTC device packs a 5-inch 1080p (non-PenTile) display, quad-core Qualcomm Krait processor, Adreno 320 GPU, Sense and a Scribe pen. The rumor mill has also pegged the new iPhone with a fall debut.
Although these details are obviously still unconfirmed, some of the claims in this report could make sense. Samsung's Galaxy S3 seems like one of the more hotly anticipated Android handsets in recent memory and I wouldn't be surprised if Verizon wanted a slice of the action here in the U.S., especially considering that it missed out on a Galaxy S II variant. We've already seen Motorola cranking out a handful of different RAZR models, so it wouldn't be a surprise if that trend continued. And since HTC already has some experience with a stylus-friendly Android device in the Flyer, it's not crazy to think that the company may want to try and dip its toes in the "phablet" water after seeing the success that Samsung's had with the Note. So Verizon folk, anything here piquing your interest?
