Yesterday ASUS teased an upcoming Transformer Prime update, saying that it'll bring "awesome new features" to the Tegra 3-powered tablet but stopping short of explaining exactly what those features are. It seems that ASUS's Italian arm may have spilled the beans a tad early, though, listing off a number of changes that it says will be included with the Prime's new update. Included in the machine-translated list are features like Face Unlock, lock screen notification controls, updates to default Google apps (Market will become Play Store, Books will become Play Books, etc.) and support for LAN connections using a USB to Ethernet converter.
So when might this update be rolling out? The ASUS Italy page, which also mentions that the upgrade is software version 9.4.2.21, claims that it could begin rolling out as tomorrow. Although the opinions on how awesome the features contained in this update are are sure to change from person to person, it's good to see ASUS bring some new goodies to the Transformer Prime and continue to push updates to it on a fairly frequent basis. We'll keep an eye out for more on this new software and update you as we get additional information. Stay tuned!
