After a bit of back and forth about whether or not the Samsung Galaxy S would receive a "Value Pack" update that would bring some Ice Cream Sandwich features to the handset in lieu of an actual ICS upgrade, Samsung has released just such an update. Announced on the Samsung Tomorrow site, the update is now available for Korean Galaxy S users. After installation, Samsung says that Galaxy S owners can expect goodies like Face Unlock, the ability to take pictures while also recording video, support for adjusting font size in some apps, and improvements to folders in the launcher.

While this new update certainly isn't going to be the same as an actual bump to Android 4.0, it's good to see Galaxy S owners in Korea at least getting some of the functionality of an ICS upgrade. As for those of us in the U.S., there's no word yet on whether this update will make its way to Galaxy S handsets stateside. Considering the multiple variants of the Galaxy S that are available in the U.S. and the history that they've had with updates, though, I'm not so sure that I'd bank on that happening.
