The new iPad is here, and now that Apple's latest tablet has finally made its way onto store shelves and into consumers' hands, the rumor mill can begin to focus on the next iPhone. Today a new report from iMore claims to have some details on what features we can expect out of the next iOS handset as well as when we might see it launch. Unsurprisingly, 4G LTE connectivity is said to be coming to the next iPhone, and Apple is also thought to be sticking with the 3.5-inch screen size (or something close to that) that we've seen on previous iPhones. iMore also reports that Apple may ditch its 30-pin dock connector with the new iPhone in order to help make room for other components inside the handset. Finally, we're told to expect the new iPhone in the fall, with an exact date expected as we get closer to the actual release.

So there's the current list of features thought to be making the cut into the next iPhone, several of which make sense. For example, the new iPad packs in 4G LTE, so it'd be strange to see Apple not include it in the next iPhone. The fall/October debut also seems likely, as that would give the iPhone 4S a year on the market and help Apple to spread its major new product releases throughout the year (new iPad in spring, Mountain Lion in the summer, new iPhone in the fall).
