Good news this morning for folks that love handset leaks, as an images of a mysterious Samsung phone have made their way online. The device is said to feature the model number GT-i9300 and, as you can see up above, it appears to be packing Android 4.0 beneath Samsung's custom TouchWiz overlay. There are the Ice Cream Sandwich software navigation buttons at the bottom of the devices face, although the multitasking and back keys have been flipped from the layout that's present on the Galaxy Nexus, and the look of the back and home keys has also been slightly tweaked. The device's app list also shows a couple of S Pen apps like "S Memo" and "S Planner." There aren't a lot of hard spec details to accompany this leak, although one of the images does show an "About device" screen that lists the phone as having Android 4.0.3.
So just what are we looking at here? That much is still up in the air. The original Galaxy S featured the model number GT-i9000, the Galaxy S II is GT-i9100 and the Galaxy Nexus is GT-i9250, so many have speculated that the GT-i9300 could be the Galaxy S III. Of course, we won't know whether or not that's actually the case until Samsung trots the GSIII out on stage, which it will be doing sometime in the first half of this year. Whatever this device is, it's nice to finally get a peek at how Samsung might handle ICS on-screen navigation buttons in TouchWiz. What do you all make of this mystery phone? Let us know in the comments below and we'll pass along more details on the GT-i9300 as we get them.
