The HTC Vivid's Ice Cream Sandwich update became available to some users a week ago thanks to a little dialer trick, but now Vivid owners that either couldn't or didn't want to go that route can get in on the Android 4.0 fun as well. AT&T and HTC have announced that the Vivid's ICS update is now officially available, bringing with it goodies like Beats Audio, improved email and some UI improvements that are part of the bump to HTC Sense 3.6, like a customizable launch bar at the bottom of the home screen. The update also bumps the Vivid up to firmware version 3.26.502.56710RD.
Overall the Vivid's Android 4.0 upgrade sounds pretty nice. While some folks may be disappointed that it doesn't include the Sense 4 overlay that's found on HTC's upcoming One devices, the tweaks in Sense 3.6 (like the aforementioned launch bar) seem spiffy. If you've got a Vivid and haven't yet installed the 314MB ICS update, you can do so now by heading into Menu > Settings > AT&T Software Update > Check for updates. Once the install is finished, don't forget to swing by the comments below to let us know how the combo of Android 4.0 and Sense 3.6 is treating you!
