Looks like LG Thrill 4G owners are getting a nice surprise this morning. Reports of the arrival of the Thrill 4G's Gingerbread update have begun emerging, with folks saying that the upgrade is now available through the LG Mobile Support Tool for PCs. As for what's included in the update, Thrill 4G owners can expect goodies like gallery performance and improved video quality, among other tweaks, as well as the usual additions that come packed in with Android 2.3.
The LG Thrill 4G originally launched on AT&T with Android 2.2 Froyo in tow back at the beginning of September of last year. Some owners may be a bit bummed that the Thrill 4G is just now getting a bump up to Gingerbread, but hey, it's better than being stuck on Froyo for the rest of time. As for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, LG has said that it'll be upgrading the Optimus 3D (the Thrill's international brother) to ICS. However, AT&T hasn't yet indicated whether the Thrill will be given the same treatment. But let's get back to the here and now! How's the Gingerbread upgrade treating you, Thrill 4G folk?
