A little over two weeks after Verizon first took the wraps off of the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX at CES, the carrier has revealed when the new Android handset and its capacious battery will be hitting store shelves. Today Verizon announced that the DROID RAZR MAXX will be launching on January 26th, which just so happens to be this Thursday. Pricing for the new RAZR will be set at $299.99 with a two-year contract.
In case you need a refresher, specs for the RAZR MAXX remain largely the same as the original DROID RAZR, meaning you can expect to find a 4.3-inch 960x540 Super AMOLED Advanced display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 8-megapixel camera with 1080p video capture. The major addition to the RAZR MAXX is its 3,300mAh battery, which is quite a bump from the original DROID RAZR's 1,780mAh juice pack. The RAZR MAXX will also come with 32GB of storage.
Today's RAZR MAXX release date news doesn't come as much of a shock to anyone that's been following the handset since its debut, but hey, it's always nice to get official word from the folks at Verizon. So now that we know when the DROID RAZR MAXX will be launching and how much it'll cost when it does, are any of you thinking about picking one up? If you're still on the fence, perhaps a hands-on with the device would help to make up your mind. The good news is that you can find our look at the RAZR MAXX conveniently embedded below.
