Plenty of folks excitedly rushed out to throw their cash at Verizon when the Galaxy Nexus finally launched at the end of last week, but that excitement was tempered for some folks that ran into signal strength issues with their new handset. Several users, our own Aaron Baker included, have reported seeing reception problems on the Galaxy Nexus when compared to other Verizon LTE handsets, even when the devices are sitting right next to one another. The good news is that Verizon is aware of the issue and is hard at work on a fix in the form of a software update. The bad news? There's no ETA on when the update might be arriving.
Although it's obviously a bummer that a device that so many folks were waiting on the edge of their seats for has been experiencing signal strength issues less than a week after launch, but I'm glad to see Verizon acknowledge the issue and confirm that a fix is on the way. Obviously we'll let you know more on the update when we get it. Until then, though, you Verizon Galaxy Nexus owners should sound off in the comments below on your experiences with the LTE-powered Ice Cream Sandwich machine. Are you seeing signal strength problems or have you been coasting along on the 4G airwaves without a care?
