Are you a Verizon 4G LTE device owner that's been having data issues throughout the day? If you answered yes, then know that you're not alone, as reports have been pouring in from users across the country about a possible Verizon LTE outage. Perusing the official @VZWSupport Twitter account shows several customers complaining of issues with accessing LTE coverage, and it sounds like some folks might be having problems with 3G connectivity as well. Verizon's support account has said it's aware of the issue and that engineers are working on it, but that there's currently no ETA on when things might be restored.
Verizon's run into LTE network problems a couple of times this year, and although the fixes have come along fairly quickly in the past, it's always kind of a bummer when the 4G juices stop flowing to your handset out of nowhere. As usual, we'll keep you updated on the situation as we hear more. How are things in your neck of woods, Verizon customers?
UPDATE: And now Verizon's issued a statement on the issue saying that there is indeed a 4G LTE service issue and that its engineers are working to get everything back up and running. Verizon also claims that 3G data and voice are unaffected and that text messages and voice calls are going through just fine. There's no mention of when the problem might be solved, but Verizon says that it's moving as quickly as possible. The full statement:
"Verizon Wireless engineers have been working to resolve an issue with 4GLTE service that is affecting some customers’ 4G devices. 3G data and voice devices are unaffected. All customers’ voice calls and text messages continue to go through. In the past 24 hours, some 4GLTE customers have reported their devices are operating on 3G data service where they would normally get 4G. Some have reported no issues, others that data access is either intermittent or unavailable. We are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible."
UPDATE 2: According to a tweet from Verizon's own @VZWNews Twitter account, the 4G LTE network should be back to normal now. Everything working again for you?
