Late last week word began to spread of a Motorola DROID RAZR launch that may be set for November 11th at 11:11 a.m., and today that information was made officially official by the folks at Verizon. The carrier has confirmed that the Moto-made portion of its high-end Android holiday trio will be available this Friday, November 11th and that, yes, stores will be opening at 11:11 a.m. local time in order to begin selling the device. Pricing is still set at $299.99 with a two-year contract.
Verizon's also got another LTE goodie up its sleeve for this week, but this one is for all its 4G customers, not just those in the market for a new smartphone. Big Red has announced that on November 8th it'll be kicking off a double data deal, which means that customers with the $30/2GB plan will automatically have their monthly allotment bumped to 4GB, the $50/5GB plan will be increased to 10GB, etc. The promotion is open to both new and existing customers, the latter of which will need to give customer service a ring to have their plans adjusted. There's no word on when the double data promo will end, so interested customers should probably jump on it sooner rather than later.
Although this new double data promo from Verizon may not be quite the same as having a grandfathered unlimited data plan, it's still a pretty awesome deal. It couldn't have come at a better time, either, with the Motorola DROID RAZR is hitting this Friday, the HTC Rezound coming November 14th, and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus rumored to be launching on the 21st. Who's biting?
