It's always nice when the pieces of a mystery come together. Early last month we saw a Samsung device with the model number SGH-T679 pass through the FCC bearing T-Mobile-friendly bands and more than a passing resemblance to the Samsung Galaxy W. Today the T679 is back thanks to the folks at Pocketnow, who have procured the press images you see above, which show that the T679 with T-Mobile branding and confirms that it is indeed the Galaxy W. Just what might the Galaxy W be called when it hits T-Mobile, you ask? That's where our pals at TmoNews come in. They've posted the photo you see below, revealing that the T679 will be dubbed the "Exhibit II 4G" (successor to the original Exhibit 4G) when it launches.
For those of you that are wondering what kind of specs the Exhibit II 4G might be packing when it hits U.S. shores, the international Galaxy W features a 3.7-inch 800x480 display, 1.4GHz single-core processor, 5-megapixel camera, 720p video capture, VGA front-facing camera, 1,500mAh battery, and Android 2.3 beneath Samsung's TouchWiz UI. Sounds like a respectable mid-range handset to me, especially for anyone that wants a Galaxy S II but would prefer a display that's slightly less ginormous than the GSII's 4.52-incher.
