Earlier this year, an unannounced LG Android device codenamed "Flip II" was spotted at a press event with T-Mobile branding. The Flip II was revealed as being a landscape slider with a physical keyboard, but what made it different from most other sliding handsets is that it also featured a secondary touch display smack dab in the middle of its QWERTY. We haven't seen much of the Flip II since then, but today it's back in the news courtesy of a pair of press images leaked by the folks at Pocketnow. As you can see up above, the device features T-Mobile branding on its face and a nice "Doubleplay" tattoo going straight down its rear. I see what you did there, LG/T-Mobile.
So what kind of features can we expect the Doubleplay to sport once it launches? Spec details are still a bit thin, though Pocketnow claims that it'll feature a 320x480 (main) display, 5-megapixel camera, and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The good news is that we've heard that the Doubleplay could be launching as soon as November 2nd. If that date ends up holding true, then we should be hearing more on this unique slider in the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned.
