Last night we reported that the number of Android phones running Gingerbread just keeps getting bigger, with over a third of all devices running the latest major build of Google's mobile operating system. Now we've got another handset joining the Gingerbread club, as the Casio G'zOne Commando has gotten bumped up to Android 2.3. Verizon posted a support document on its website detailing all of the changes found in the Commando's update (build number C771M070), which includes reduced lag and improved proximity sensor responsiveness during voice calls. Although it doesn't look like Verizon has officially announced the rollout of the Commando's 2.3 update, several forum-goers have reported that the new software has been rolling out over the air for a few days now. If you're a Commando owner that hasn't yet gotten a taste of Gingerbread, you can go to Menu > Settings > About phone > System Updates > Check New and try to check for it manually.
