The policies they are a-changin'. Ok, maybe that's not how the Dylan tune goes, but it sure seems applicable to Sprint as of late. After giving the axe to one-year contracts and ending the Premier program, a new leak has shown that Sprint's set its sights on mobile hotspot users. As you can see in the Sprint Playbook page above, customers on the Now Network will begin to have their mobile hotspot usage capped at 5GB per month on October 2nd. That includes both 3G and 4G data, and any data usage over that 5GB limit will set you back $0.05 per MB. Data consumed on the phone itself will remain unlimited.
This latest Sprint Playbook leak isn't all bad news, thankfully, as it also shows that the BlackBerry Curve 9350 that was delayed earlier this month will finally be launching on October 2nd. The 9350's price remains the same: $79.99 with a two-year contract and $50 mail-in rebate. As for you Android folk out there, you can look forward to October 2nd bringing you a $20 price drop on the Kyocera Milano, bringing it down to $29.99 on-contract, as well as the previously-announced LG Marquee.
The news that Sprint is capping its mobile hotspot plan is kind of a bummer for all of you on the Now Network, but hey, at least your phone data is still bottomless for the time being. UPDATE: Sprint has confirmed the change to its mobile hotspot plan. Beginning October 2nd, customers with the $29.99 hotspot add-on will be given 5GB of combined 3G/4G usage each month. The carrier added that data usage on phones remains unlimited.
