Well folks, after months of waiting, a ton of leaks, and one redesign, the Motorola DROID Bionic is finally almost here. Verizon announced this morning that the Bionic will be going on sale tomorrow, September 8th, for $299.99 with a two-year contract. For those of you that'd like a reminder of what kind of specs the Bionic's packing, we've got 'em for you: 4.3-inch qHD (960x540) display, dual-core 1GHz processor, 8-megapixel camera, 1080p video capture, front-facing camera, 1GB RAM, 16GB built-in storage, 16GB microSD card, 4G LTE connectivity, and Android 2.3.4 beneath a custom Motorola UI.
As far as accessories go, the main attraction here is likely the Lapdock that features an 11.6-inch screen alongside a full keyboard and trackpad. The Lapdock will be priced at $299.97, but for a limited time Verizon will be offering a $100 mail-in rebate to those customers that pick up both the Bionic and a Lapdock and sign up for a $50/5GB data plan or higher. Other accessories that will be available include an HD Station for $99.99, an Adapter for Webtop Application for $29.99, a Vehicle Navigation Dock for $39.99, and a Battery Dock — which can charge both the Bionic and an extra battery at the same time — for $49.99.
So there you have it. It's good to see the DROID Bionic finally coming to market, especially considering that it was introduced back in January and was supposed to arrive in the second quarter of 2011. Now we just have to see if the old adage "good things come to those who wait" holds true. Who's planning on adding the Bionic to their gadget repertoire tomorrow?
