MetroPCS has been filling out its Android lineup nicely as of late with devices like the Samsung Galaxy Indulge and LG Optimus M, and today the carrier added another Android-powered smartphone to the roster: the Samsung Admire. Coming in with a contract-free price of $129, the Admire features a 3.5-inch 320x480 display, 800MHz processor, 3.2-megapixel camera, 196MB of internal storage, 2GB microSD card preinstalled, 1,600mAh battery, and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The Admire can be paired with one of MetroPCS's unlimited plans that start at $50 per month.
As I said yesterday when we first saw the Samsung Galaxy Precedent, it's great to see so many budget-friendly Android phones hitting the pre-paid carriers. This gives folks that can't or don't want to shell out hundreds of dollars for a high-end smartphone on-contract a chance to try out Android for themselves. Certainly the specs of the Admire aren't the most impressive we've ever seen, but for $130 sans commitment, the device is a pretty good deal. Anyone planning on pulling the trigger on MetroPCS's newest Android addition?
