Another case closed! Yesterday we learned that the HTC DROID Incredible 2 would soon be arriving at Best Buy with a new white paint job, but it wasn't clear exactly when the pale device would be going on sale. Today Best Buy's cleared everything up for us, announcing that the frosty white DROID Incredible 2 will be launching this Sunday, August 21st, for $149.99 with a two-year contract.
Specs remain the same as the plain ol' black Incredible 2, meaning you're looking at a 4-inch 480x800 display, 1GHz processor, 8-megapixel camera, and a 1.3-megapixel shooter around front. Interestingly, Best Buy's press release does say that the white Incredible 2 will come with Android 2.2 out of the box, so owners will likely have an update to Gingerbread waiting for them after getting the device activated.
As we've said before, it's always nice to see handsets re-released with new color schemes to give consumers more choices, especially when they look as slick as this new white Incredible 2 does. Anyone thinking about pulling the trigger on this new version of the DInc 2?

Similar to the original DROID Incredible 2 that launched in April, the white version features the Android 2.2 operating system, 4" WVGA touch screen, 8.0MP digital camera and 1.3MP front-facing camera and Mobile Hotspot capability. It retails for $149.99 with new, two-year activation.
