Today's been a busy day for BlackBerry fans, with the emergence of Curve 9380 photos and the cancellation of the WiMAX PlayBook, and now we've got a few more leaks to whet your 'Berry appetite. First up, photos of Sprint's Bold 9930 and Torch 9850 in the wild have emerged ahead of the both devices' arrival on August 21st. There's not any new information about either handset to report, but it's good to get a real-life peek at the BlackBerrys that may be making their way into your pocket later this month.

Moving on, a new rumor has emerged claiming that AT&T may be crippling its version of the Bold 9900. According to "an insider in a position to know" speaking with TechnoBuffalo, AT&T will be blocking the 9900's NFC capabilities at the software level. That means that, if this info is accurate, the 9900's NFC chip will be left intact, but you won't be able to use it unless the capability is unlocked later on.

The idea of AT&T blocking NFC on their newest flagship BlackBerry phone seems kind of strange, but this wouldn't be the first time that AT&T users were without an important BlackBerry feature. Back in April, it was revealed that AT&T users couldn't install the BlackBerry Bridge app on their handsets for use with the PlayBook because AT&T was still testing the software. The app was enabled two and a half months later. It's not clear if the Bold 9900's NFC capabilities will be crippled initially and then enabled later on, but it's a possibility.
