The holiday season is coming up pretty quickly, and everyone should be getting ready to see what the carriers have up their sleeve, ready to fall down the pipe and into your hands. We could have guessed that Verizon had a few heavy-hitters coming, and a recent leak may have proven that pretty definitively. But, with more than one device ready to land on the scene, it’s time for Verizon to start playing their cards closer to their chests, and hope that leaks don’t start ruining the surprise.

Just as inevitable as the holiday season is, so are leaks. We know they are going to happen. More than likely, we’ll know which devices are coming, and when they’re launching, long before Verizon wants us to. It’s just the nature of the beast. But I think for the holiday season, Verizon should start cracking down on those leaks, and make sure that they aren’t unveiled before the carrier wants them to be. After all, if this latest leak is correct, and we’ve got a successor to the LG Revolution coming, along with the HTC Vigor and Motorola DROID Bionic, then the end of this year will be pretty exciting for Android lovers under Verizon’s umbrella.

But, should Verizon launch all three handsets at the same time? More than likely we can expect Verizon to stagger the launches of these handsets, as is usually the case. With such high-profile devices, though, maybe not staggering the launches would work better in the end. If Verizon were to launch the Motorola DROID Bionic first, and then the LG Revolution’s sequel a few weeks later, there might be someone who suffers some pretty serious buyer’s remorse, because that newer device has some features they want over what they bought. Or, it may just come down to the fact that it’s newer. And this scenario could go for any device that gets launched after one of the others.

What could make the situation more interesting for Verizon, though, and a move that I wouldn’t be surprised to see the wireless carrier carry out, is releasing each new device exactly 15 days after the previous handset’s launch. Why? Because that way no one can return a device and get the new one. They’re locked into that contract, so that buyer’s remorse is just that – remorse. Obviously Big Red wants there to be options for its subscribers, and that’s why I think it would be a pretty interesting move to launch all the devices mentioned above at the same time. And yes, that would mean that the devices that are rumored to launch as early as September would have to be pushed back just a little longer.

Actually, the reason I want this to happen, is because I want a fair fight between the major Android manufacturers. If each of these handsets are indeed launching, then all three handsets will be major players for HTC, Motorola and LG. These will be the handsets that everyone wants this holiday season. And we already know that if the Bionic is the only device to get the DROID tag, then it will have the most marketing muscle behind it. But, with the Vigor’s stats, and a potentially upgraded LG Revolution, these two handsets have no reason to miss out on the limelight. By releasing all three at the same time, it would literally come down to the stats of the device, the manufacturer name, and marketing from the companies. I think it would be interesting to see who would come out on top at the end of the year, whether it is Motorola, HTC or LG.

And is this the time that we should expect to see Samsung’s major device as well? We know that Samsung has their Galaxy S II variant heading to Verizon at some point. Throwing that company into the mix would only intensify the battle, and it would be remarkably interesting to see which manufacturer took the top spot, and where the others fell.

Will it happen? Probably not. We’ll likely see Verizon stagger the launches. We may see a couple of the rumored devices launch on the same day, but I would be shocked to see more than that.
