Apple's legal battle with Amazon over the retailer's use of the term "Appstore" may not be going as well as the Cupertino firm would hope, but that hasn't stopped it from going after other companies using the name as well. The latest group in Apple's crosshairs is GetJar, a web-based app market that caters to a variety of mobile platforms. Apple recently sent GetJar a cease and desist order, demanding that it stop using the term "App Store" and instead describe its service as a "mobile download service" or "application download service." In response, GetJar put up a post on its site saying that it "won’t be subject to this kind of bullying." The site argues that it's all about developers and that it is focused on offering free apps, not competing with Apple's App Store.
Considering how aggressively Apple's been going after companies using "App Store" as of late, it's not really a shock to see it sic the legal hounds on GetJar. Apple has yet to respond to GetJar's Twisted Sister-inspired "We're Not Gonna Take It!" stance, but I'm sure that it won't be like that for long.
