Sprint launched the Palm Pre way back in June 2009, making the Now Network the original home of webOS. The Pixi came shortly thereafter, but there hasn't been any webOS love on Sprint ever since. Unfortunately for you Sprint-ers out there, it doesn't look like that'll be changing anytime soon. The folks from This is my next have been informed by "a trusted source" that not only is the Pre 3 not making its way to Sprint, but that HP has yet to make any plans to release any future products on the carrier.
There's no telling exactly why the relationship between HP/Palm and Sprint isn't quite as tight as it used to be, but the fact that Pre didn't sell as well as Sprint had hoped it would probably didn't help the situation. HP has yet to announce which carriers will be carrying the Pre 3, but an appearance on Verizon seems like it's in the cards. We've also heard that AT&T will be getting a Pre 3 to call its own. As for Sprint, well, this news is kind of a bummer for anyone that's been toting the Pre since its arrival two years ago and would like to stay with the Now Network. Perhaps recording video and playing it back in three dimensions with a shiny new EVO 3D will help soothe your ire?
