And the Motorola DROID 3 leaks continue. Today we've been treated to a Verizon document that outlines all of the DROID 3's specs and compares the new QWERTY-packin' device to some other Moto Android notables: the DROID 2 Global and DROID X2. So what kind of goodies will the D3 sport when it lands on Verizon's shelves? Well, you're looking at a device that'll feature a 4-inch 540x960 qHD display, dual-core 1GHz TI OMAP 4430 processor, 8-megapixel camera with LED flash and 1080p video capture, a front-facing camera for all your video chat and MySpace Facebook profile photo needs, 16GB of internal storage, mobile hotspot support for up to five devices, GSM capabilities for use overseas, and Android 2.3 running beneath the "Motorola Application Platform." There's no preinstalled microSD card to be found on the D3, but it will feature preloaded apps like VZ Navigator, Blockbuster, and V CAST Music and Video!

One other quick note: as you can see in the footnote at the bottom of the doc, the DROID 2 Global is slated to get an update to Android 2.3 Gingerbread "soon after DROID 3 launch."

So there you have it. Overall the DROID 3 looks like a nice upgrade from the DROID 2 and DROID 2 Global and, although it's kind of a bummer that there's no 4G LTE connectivity to be found, the D3 and its five-row physical QWERTY should make for a nice choice for folks that can't live without the tactility that a hardware keyboard brings. There's still no word on how much the newest DROID will cost or when it'll be launchng, but we'll let you know more when we do. Promise.
