Yesterday we got multiple confirmations that Verizon will indeed be making the move to tiered data next month just like we heard last week, and even saw pricing details emerge. To say that folks were not thrilled about the changes would be an understatement, but today we've got some news that may help to soothe everyone's anger a tad. According to a report from Droid-Life, customers that sign up for an unlimited data plan before July 7th may be able to keep that unlimited plan even after upgrading devices or renewing a contract. That means that, if true, only customers signing up for new smartphone lines after July 7th will be subject to the tiered data options.
Obviously this is pretty big news for current Verizon customers, as it means that anyone already on an unlimited plan may be able to keep on keepin' on with that plan for the foreseeable future. Keep in mind, though, that this information hasn't been made official by VZW quite yet. When/if it is, you can bet we'll let you know.
