Just days after details on the Motorola DROID 2 Global's update to Android 2.3 Gingerbread appeared online, Verizon has announced that the update has begun rolling out today. Like most other updates, Verizon says that the D2G's new software is being pushed out in stages. Those of you eager users that don't want to wait for the update to come to you can press Menu Key, tap Settings, select About phone, then go into System Updates to manually check for the Gingerbread goodness.
As we reported previously, it looks like this particular update applies only to DROID 2 Global owners, meaning you non-Global DROID 2 owners will continue to be stuck on Android 2.2 for time time being. DROID 2 Global users, you can find a full list of the improvements and enhancements included with the Gingerbread update right here. Once you get the update up and running on your device, be sure to come back and let us know how it's working for you, alright?
