Earlier today, we mentioned that a device named the "Motorola Photon 4G" could be the star of Sprint and Moto's event in NYC next month. According to a source speaking with TechnoBuffalo, the Photon 4G will indeed make its grand debut at next month's luncheon and will feature the following specs:
Pretty impressive specs, no? Best of all is the news that we may not have to wait long to get our paws on the Photon 4G, as it's currently slated to arrive sometime in July. The same source that revealed the Photon's specs also mentioned that Sprint's WiMAX-powered Motorola XOOM could also be shown off at the June 9th gathering. There was no tentative launch info given for the XOOM, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it land sooner rather than later. So, how does the Motorola Photon 4G sound to all of you? Think it'll steal the Nexus S 4G's newly-earned title of "Top Smartphone for Sprint?"
UPDATE: Add global roaming to the Photon 4G's spec list, as the folks at This is my next has been told that a device codenamed "Sunfire," which is very likely the Photon, will show up at Sprint and Moto's event with GSM compatibility.
