Great news, Android fans! After months of waiting and hoping, the Netflix for Android app has finally be released. It's available on the Android Market right now (right here), although there is a catch: only a select few devices are compatible with the app. As of this writing, only the HTC Incredible, Nexus One, HTC EVO 4G, T-Mobile G2, and Nexus S are capable of officially running the app. Many folks have been trying to get Netflix for Android up and running on other devices, but it doesn't look like they're having much luck yet.
Despite the fact that only a handful of Android devices are supported by Netflix initially, it's still pretty awesome to finally see the app finally land, especially considering how long iOS users have had access to it. The good news is that Netflix is hard at work on getting its app to play nice with other Android products. The company says that most of the obstacles with getting its app to run on other devices "will be resolved in the coming months" and that it anticipates that eventually it'll run "on a large majority of Android phones." So, anyone already have Netflix for Android up and running on your handset? How's it working for you?
