In the market for a new smartphone on Verizon? If a recent batch of rumored release dates posted by the folks at Droid-Life are legit, you're going to have quite a few new devices to choose from in the next few weeks. According to the site's "friends at Verizon," we can expect the DROID X2 (or X^2, depending on who you ask), the LG Revolution, and the HTC Trophy to all land on May 12th, while the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY could be dropping a couple of weeks later on May 26th.
While it's true that these launch dates are rumors and should be taken with a few grains of your favorite salt, it's also important to note that there is a bit of evidence to support them. For example, both the DROID X2 and LG Revolution were a part of a recently-leaked minimum advertised pricing list, which is usually a good indication that a launch can't be too far off. Additionally, this is the second time that we've heard that the Trophy could land on May 12th, and both it and the Xperia PLAY were listed as "Coming Soon" in an online smartphone guide that was spotted on Verizon's website this past weekend. In short, while these dates aren't confirmed just yet, they're certainly worth keeping in mind.
