If you're on AT&T and in the market for a new smartphone, you may want to wait a few days before deciding which device to get. Invites are currently being sent out for an event on Thursday, May 5th, where Samsung and AT&T will be teaming up to make a "special announcement."
There's no indication as to exactly what Sammy and ATT have up their collective sleeves for Thursday's gathering, but we can think of a few possibilities. The Nexus S is certainly one of them, as we've seen the GT-I9020A appear on Samsung's website and get certified by the Bluetooth SIG. Another possibility is the Galaxy S II, which Pocketnow points out may have just gotten the WiFi Alliance's stamp of approval. Finally, Thursday's gathering may finally bring launch info for the Infuse 4G. If you recall, the Infuse was recently spotted in a leaked Walmart ad not only sporting a $178.88 price tag but a May 2011 launch date, too. As usual, we'll be bringing all the news you need from Thursday's event. Until then, feel free to drop your own thoughts on what Samsung and AT&T may be planning in the comments below!
