Last year, the iPod touch gained a front-facing camera so that it could join the iPhone in some FaceTime fun. This year may see the full-touch iPod's face get another new feature, although this time the big change would take place on the bottom half of the device. The folks at CrunchGear were recently handed a batch of photos purporting to show an upcoming iPod touch with a capacitive home button as well as a whopping 128GB of storage.
This isn't the first time we've heard of a possible home button redesign for the iPhone/iPod touch, although it's worth noting that many have called the legitimacy of the photos into question. If it is indeed real, a capacitive button would be an interesting change for Apple, but it could help to reduce the number of repairs necessary on the iDevices due to sticky or busted home buttons. What do you all think? Are the images the real deal or a simple 'Shop? Is a capacitive home button a good idea or do you think a more physical, clicky button is better?
