The Samsung Galaxy Prevail has been the star of a couple of leaks as of late, and we're expecting Boost Mobile and Samsung to come together tonight to make the device nice and official. It seems that Boost just couldn't wait to share the good news, though, as the carrier has gone ahead and posted the Galaxy Prevail on their website ahead of tonight's event. There's no word on when the handset will be up for purchase, but the site does confirm some of the Prevail's specs:
Just like we suspected, the Galaxy Prevail is a fairly mid-range Android device, but it's a pretty important addition to Boost's lineup. The only other Android phone that the carrier has offered is the Motorola i1, which is certainly beginning to show its age. When you consider that the Galaxy Prevail only costs $180 without a contract and runs Android 2.2, I'd say that it's a pretty solid choice for anyone looking for a new Boost-ready handset.
UPDATE: And now the Prevail is all nice and official. There's not really any new spec information to be had, but now we know that Boost will be launching the Galaxy Prevail in late April for $179.99 sans contract. The press release is available below.
