Just a couple of days ago, we heard that Windows Phone 7's NoDo update had finally been pushed out by Microsoft, but those of us here in the U.S. are still waiting to get our cut and paste on (unless you're an HTC Arrive owner, you lucky dog, you). So exactly when will our carrier-branded WP7 devices get the first big update of the platform's still young life? For the answer, we can refer to a page on Microsoft's site simply titled "Where's my phone update?" It appears that T-Mobile WP7 users will be getting NoDo before their AT&T brethren, as the Dell Venue Pro and HTC HD7 are both marked as "Scheduling," which Microsoft says usually takes 10 days or fewer. Meanwhile, the HTC Surround, Samsung Focus, and LG Quantum are all still in the "Testing" phase of the update process.
Microsoft has certainly hit a few bumps on the road to getting NoDo actually released, but it's good that the update is finally almost here, especially since we're finally starting to see devices with it preloaded. Let's just hope that the next major update, currently being referred to as Mango and scheduled to arrive later this year, goes a little more smoothly for the folks in Redmond.
