During CES, RIM let us know that they plan to launch the BlackBerry PlayBook complete with WiMAX capabilities some time this summer. Today Sprint has chimed in to remind us all that yes, the WiMAX PlayBook is still alive and yes, it's still coming sometime this summer. There's not much new information to be found within, but if you need to know the second that the device is available, you can give up your email address to receive updates. Of course, you could also continue to read PhoneDog, too. Just sayin'.
Thanks to recent leaks, we've learned that Sprint will likely be launching both the Motorola XOOM and EVO View 4G, both of which will be WiMAX-ready, some time in the future. When you combine those two tablets with a 4G PlayBook, it certainly seems like Sprint's building up a pretty healthy tablet portfolio. Of course, there's absolutely zero concrete release or pricing info on any of those devices, but things are looking pretty good if you're a Sprint user and want to get in on the tablet craze any time soon.
