T-Mobile's new Sidekick 4G was finally made nice and official earlier this week, and to celebrate the occasion, T-Mo has decided to post a short introduction video showing off all that the newest Sidekick has to offer. There's not much new info to be found in the clip, but we do finally get to see how the Sidekick 4G slides open and closed, which makes watching the 1:42 second clip worth it for anyone considering picking it up.
In other Sidekick-related news, T-Mobile has confirmed the existence of a couple of features of the device that were kept under wraps until now. When it launches later this spring, the Sidekick 4G will come preloaded with a 2GB microSD card and will be able to function as a mobile hotspot and can tether to other devices, as well.
While it may be viewed as a bit too "teen" for some folks, the new Sidekick 4G has the potential to appeal to a lot of messaging-obsessed folks, much like other devices in the Sidekick line have done in the past. Of course, pricing could end up being a barrier that would prevent a lot of interested customers from buying one. T-Mobile recently increased the price of 4G devices like the G2 and myTouch 4G to $249.99 on contract, which may be a bit too much for some. Luckily, CTIA is around the corner, so we may be learning more as soon as next week. Stay tuned!
