We may have to wait an extra week or two for Windows Phone 7's first major update to drop, but Microsoft's new mobile platform just hit another big milestone. According to Windows Phone 7 Applications, WP7 now has over 10,000 apps available in the Marketplace. WP7 had around 5,000 apps the last time we checked at the end of December, meaning that the OS has managed to double its app selection in just under three months.
While WP7 lags pretty far behind iOS and Android when it comes to the sheer number of apps available, its doing pretty well compared to some of its other competitors: BlackBerry's App World just hit the 10,000 app milestone late last year, while webOS reached 5,000 apps at the end of December. So, WP7 owners, take this time to do a little dance, and feel free to share your favorite apps with us all down in the comments.
