Apple released the iPad 2 in both white and black on Friday, but it's smaller counterpart, the iPhone 4, is still only available black, despite the fact that it was originally released in the middle of last year. Last we heard, the white iPhone was set to finally debut sometime this spring, and today Apple's senior vice president of worldwide product marketing, Phil Schiller, took to Twitter to confirm that the device is still on schedule. When one Twitter user asked Schiller how he could procure one of the frosty white handsets, the exec replied, "The white iPhone will be available this spring (and it is a beauty!)."
Schiller's statement doesn't really contain any information about the exact date that the white iPhone will be available, but at least we know that it hasn't been delayed once again — at least not yet. We've heard a rumor that the device could finally launch early next month, which lines up nicely with a possible date for an iOS 5 event. For those of you that think that the white iPhone still matters, we'll keep an eye out.
