Samsung's WiFi-only Galaxy Tab was the subject of a couple of leaks last year as many consumers pined for a version of the 7-inch tablet with a slightly lower price tag than its cellular data-capable brethren. The WiFi-only Tab was finally made official at CES this year and given a Q1 launch date, and now it appears that Sammy is finally gearing up to release the device. According to a flyer allegedly handed out by a Samsung rep, the cellular-less Galaxy Tab should finally begin shipping on April 4th for $399, a full $100 less than previous leaks claimed.

It's nice to finally see the WiFi-only Galaxy Tab nearing launch, and $399 isn't a bad price for the tablet, but you have to wonder if there's really much of a point to releasing it anymore. The original Tab came out in November of last year and, while it was one of the first Android tablets to challenge the iPad, it wasn't exactly a runaway hit with consumers. Now that Honeycomb and the XOOM are here, the Tab doesn't seem very enticing, especially since the WiFi-only XOOM could be debuting around the same time for $539 or $599.
