Sony Ericsson has been pretty exclusive to Android as of late, but a new leak has shown that they may be preparing to spend some time with Windows Phone 7 on the side. The device you see above is allegedly a prototype SE WP7 device, complete with slide-out physical keyboard. The authenticity of the photo is being called into question, though, as some of the tiles in the image don't quite match up with ones we've seen on current WP7 hardware. For example, the Internet Explorer icon isn't plain white, the Xbox Live tile isn't green, and the Zune tile is double-wide rather than a single tile. On the other hand, it's possible that this is an older photo and the device is running an earlier version of WP7.
There's a lot of things about the photo that make it tough to tell whether the device is the real deal, and SE certainly isn't helping us decide one way or the other. Last year, the company expressed some interest in launching a WP7 product some time this year. In January of this year, though, we heard one SE exec say that, while they would "keep an open mind" when it comes to Microsoft's OS, they planned to focus on Android. The photo does have a lot that makes it look legit, but those tiles that I mentioned earlier make it hard to totally believe the validity of it. What do you all think? Is this indeed a Sony Ericsson Windows Phone 7 device or simply a well-done 'Shop?
