Motorola, HTC, and LG will be some of the first manufacturers with LTE-capable handsets on the market, but a new interview has revealed that Sony Ericsson won't be far behind. Sony Ericsson CTO Jan Uddenfeldt revealed that his company will be launching its first LTE handset "pretty soon," although he didn't say exactly when it would arrive or which carrier(s), if any, would offer it. Uddenfeldt also said that Sony Ericsson will be focusing more on the U.S. market than it has in the past, which includes moving its chief creative officer here. Finally, the exec touched more on upcoming products, saying that the Xperia PLAY could be coming to other carriers besides Verizon and that SE is currently in talks with Sony about collaborating on a tablet.

Sony Ericsson promised that it would be making 2011 a much better year than 2010 was for the company, and so far they seem to be making a lot of the right moves. They announced a trio of new Android phones that are running the latest version of the OS and launching in the next few months, embracing 4G tech, and even getting in on the tablet game that's going to be all the rage this year. SE's commitment to the U.S. market is pretty exciting, too, although I'm going to wait until devices start arriving before getting too worked up.
