Hot on the heels of a Samsung exec promising that the U.S. Galaxy S phones Android 2.2 updates were "right around the corner," a rumor about the Epic 4G's upgrade has emerged. The folks over at Android Central have allegedly gotten details on the Epic 4G's Froyo update from Sprint's internal system, and they're claiming that the upgrade will begin rolling out on February 21st, lining up with a rumor from earlier this month. The difference is that the earlier rumor listed a build number of EA17, and this new one has the build number at EB13. The report also says that the Sanyo Zio will be bumped to Froyo on the 21st. Considering how often we've heard rumors of the Galaxy S 2.2 updates coming, and how many times both the carriers and Samsung have promised them, I wouldn't blame anyone for being a tad skeptical about this rumor. Still, with the Samsung news earlier, combined with the fact that the Epic 4G's update made a brief appearance on Sammy's site the other day, it certainly seems like the stars are finally beginning to align. UPDATE: Both BGR and Android Police have reportedly heard that the updates will, in fact, be going down on the 21st.
