The Super Bowl won't kick off for almost another week, but Motorola won't make you wait that long for a peek at the XOOM's ad that'll air during the big game. The minute-long clip takes more than a couple of shots at Apple and their famous "1984" Super Bowl ad, then rattles off some of the XOOM's specs, including a dual-core processor, 1080p video playback, 3G and 4G speeds, Honeycomb, 5 megapixel rear camera, and a 2 megapixel front-facing camera. You can check out the whole ad down below.
A lot of us that obsess over cell phones and tablets are already excited about the XOOM and the prospect of playing with Android 3.0, but this new ad should definitely get some more mainstream consumers interested in the device, too. I'm not sure that everyone will get all of the references to Apple (although those white earbuds are kind of a giveaway), but all of the specs are what really matters here. Still, until Verizon gets the XOOM a subsidized price that's lower than the $700 and $800, I don't know if many mainstream consumers will be willing to give Moto's tablet a second glance regardless of what its specs are.
