Verizon has hinted in the past that they'll have several LTE-capable devices to show off at CES and we know that at least one of them will be powered by Android. Today we got another piece of the VZW-LTE device puzzle thanks to Verizon COO John Stratton. Speaking with the Wall Street Journal, Stratton revealed that Big Red will offer a Motorola LTE handset at some point in the future. Motorola and Verizon have had a pretty tight relationship, evidenced by the popularity of the DROID lineup of phones, and Stratton said that Moto "will be right there" when Verizon launches LTE-capable products. There was no pricing or release date info mentioned.
We already know that Motorola is planning to show off a Honeycomb tablet, likely running on Verizon's network, at CES next month, so I wouldn't be surprised to see an LTE phone from them, as well. Just what kind of device does Moto have planned for us? It's tough to say, but we've heard rumors that an LTE-compatible Olympus, codenamed Etna, is coming to Verizon's shelves in February or March, so there's one possibility. We've seen HTC's Mecha running on Verizon's 4G network in the past, too, so now I pose this question to you: if you had to choose, would you rather purchase an HTC device like the Mecha or a Tegra 2-powered Motorola Etna? What about LG's mysterious mirrored display machine?
