While we're all waiting for Samsung to launch the Gingerbread-powered Nexus S, many users would just be happy to see the company release the Android 2.2 update for the Galaxy S devices here in the U.S. Well, owners of Sprint's Epic 4G don't have to wait any longer to get their taste of Froyo, as an official build of Android 2.2 has leaked out for the device. Build DK28 brings the Epic all the way up to Android 2.2.1 and is available direct from Google's servers right here. If you're an Epic owner and have some room for dessert in your belly tonight, you can find installation instructions here.
We haven't heard anything from Samsung about when Android 2.2 will actually be coming to the Epic 4G, but considering that this DK28 build looks final and official, hopefully we'll be seeing the update pushed out within the next week or so. If you don't feel like waiting and decide to install this update onto your own Epic, be sure to come back here and tell us how things go for you.
