Boy, the 4G wars certainly are heating up. The other day, a Verizon ad leaked that compared their LTE coverage to AT&T's non-existent 4G network and now Sprint has thrown down the gauntlet with T-Mobile. As you all probably know, T-Mobile has been advertising their HSPA+ network as "America's largest 4G network," and Sprint is not ok with that. In a new video explaining the Los Angeles WiMAX rollout, Sprint claims that they are "the only national carrier with a true 4G network." I'm not sure that the ITU would agree, but all of these 4G claims are simply marketing at this point, as evidenced by Sprint touting just how big their "pipe" is compared to their competitors. Check out the full video down below.
Sprint's claim that they have the only "true" 4G network is pretty bold, and I'm sure that T-Mobile is going to have something to say about it. Perhaps we'll see a new character in T-Mobile's 4G ads? Either way, the 4G wars are only going to get more intense, and I have a feeling that it's only a matter of time before some group steps in to try and set the record straight.
