The Samsung Galaxy Tab only launched just about a week ago here in the U.S., but that hasn't stopped speculation about just what will be packed into the device's successor. A new report has come out saying that Samsung plans to use their dual-core Orion processors in the next generation Galaxy Tab. The Orion runs at 1GHz speeds and is capable of both encoding and decoding 1080p video, so you know that that sucker's got some horsepower.
While the Galaxy Tab 2, or whatever it ends up being called, won't be the first tablet to sport a dual-core processor, it definitely sounds like an exciting little product. If the GT2 packs an AMOLED screen like its Galaxy S brethren, too, it could be a killer device. Let's just hope that it's not crazy expensive and that Samsung doesn't wait a long time to release it. The longer they do, the more attractive that the Honeycomb-powered MOTOPAD could become.
