If you're a BlackBerry fan but bored with the drab chrome and black color(less) scheme, AT&T has confirmed that starting November 7, the BlackBerry Torch will be available in a red and a white version. We've heard mention of red and white editions before, and it seems the rumor was right on track with its November prediction. There was no official word on the price of the different colored devices, but I would assume the pricing would match the original version at $199.99 with a two-year contract. I must admit, that red and black scheme is right up my alley, and the white isn't too bad either.
RIM is notorious for releasing color variations roughly six or more months down the road after the release of a device to breathe life and longevity into their sales. Their recent marketing for the Torch, while more creative and a little more interesting, was still yawn-inducing. Sales numbers fell short of Lazzy and Balsillie's expectations, but hopefully a little color can spruce things up a bit.
Being a long-time BlackBerry fan, I think I speak for the majority when I say we're growing tired of the same ol' thing. Don't get me wrong, I still love BlackBerry, and I still carry one daily, but boredom is setting in. Color variations are nice and all, but we're all ready for that Storm 3 with QNX technology and the PlayBook, now that we know they actually exists.
