We heard that the Gingerbread SDK may be arriving this week and, while the five days have come and gone with no software in sight, Google did give us a small taste of Gingerbread today. As you can see in the video below, a gigantic Gingerbread Man has just arrived at Google headquarters. Google hasn't said much of anything about the next iteration of the Android OS, although one employee did say recently that the next major release would be version 2.3. Check out the full video of the Gingerbread Man's arrival down below and see him claim his spot next to his froyo, eclair, donut, and cupcake brethren.
As I said before, this is one of the first times that Google has officially acknowledged Gingerbread, and it's likely a sign of good things to come. We may not know whether Gingerbread will be version 2.3, 2.5, 3.0, or 97.3, but it definitely looks like Google is getting ready to make the OS official. It's only a matter of time, friends. Now that the newest statue has arrived at Google HQ, how long do you think they'll wait to give us more information on Gingerbread?
