Verizon has had trouble keeping the HTC DROID Incredible in stock ever since the device debuted back in April. We've heard Verizon blame supply shortages for the delay, with Samsung's AMOLED display being the primary culprit. Rather than continue to delay their products, HTC recently decided to switch to Super LCD displays in their handsets, and now it looks like the SLCD-equipped Incredible is about to hit Verizon. The above screenshot was leaked in the Android Central forums and says that the DROID Incredibles sporting SLCDs should start arriving late this month. Interestingly, Verizon says that customers that need a replacement Incredible will get the same screen that they originally purchased, so you AMOLED Incredible owners don't need to worry about getting a replacement SLCD model.
If you already own an AMOLED DROID Incredible and were considering unloading the device, you might be able to charge a premium for your now-limited handset. While it's pretty disappointing that most future Incredible owners won't get to experience the goodness that AMOLED displays bring, the good news is that there shouldn't be a terribly huge difference between the two. Still, if any of you were planning on getting an Incredible, I'd recommend doing it soon. Go! Now! Just make sure to come right back to PhoneDog when you're done. I'll be here waiting.
