We've seen the BlackBerry 9670 flip phone leak a few times in the past, including a leaked slide containing the name "Oxford." However, it turns out that that will not be the name that the 9670 sports when it hits Sprint (and probably Verizon). The folks over at CrackBerry have confirmed with multiple sources that the 9670 will sport the name "Style" when it's finally launched. According to specs that we've seen leaked in the past, the Style will have a 240x320 external display, 360x400 internal display, 5 megapixel camera, and a full QWERTY keyboard. Sadly, we stil don't have any information about when the Style will be released, but I have a feeling we'll be hearing more in the near future.
The Style, like the Torch, didn't really fit into any of Research In Motion's current BlackBerry lineups, so it's not terribly surprising that they came up with a whole new name for the 9670. With the device's new name and form factor, it appears that RIM is trying to attract a more mainstream audience rather than focusing on business users, similar to their strategy with the Torch. What do you think of the Style and its new name and form factor?
