Besides this global-ready handset that we saw at the beginning of August, HTC has been relatively quiet recently in terms of Android device leaks lately. That changes today with the device that you see above and below. Looking like a mix between an EVO and a Nexus One, this unnamed product is said to be a state of the art Android phone heading to Verizon. The device features a 4.3-inch screen, 8 megapixel camera with dual LED flash, a front-facing camera, and a kickstand all wrapped up in a handset that the source described as a phone that "makes the Droid 2 look like a kids toy." There was a global Android handset mentioned in a leaked Verizon roadmap at the beginning of the month that mentioned a global Android device from HTC; it's unclear if this is that device or if it's the slider that I mentioned earlier.
There's no word on any pricing or release information, or even a name, but this device has just jumped to the top of my list of anticipated Android phones. With its huge screen, 8 megapixel camera, front-facing cam, and brushed aluminum accents, the handset screams high-end. While it's somewhat disappointing that the phone isn't coming to more Android-starved carrier like AT&T, I'm also excited that Verizon is continuing to build their Android lineup, especially when they do it with bleeding edge handsets like this one. So who's going to be skipping the DROID X and DROID 2 to wait for this device?
